In theory, reviewing reports is the professional job of examining physicians. But the reality is that a large number of ‘normal results’ occupy the time we really need to pay attention to abnormal results.
Autoverification is the process of allowing machines to process results that are “clear at a glance,” freeing people up.
Before using Runmei, our department also tried the automatic review module that comes with brand B. But to be honest, that module——
Too rigid.
The automatic review rules for brand B only have 15 fixed rules, and they must be fully met in order to automatically pass. The result is that slightly more complex situations (such as a parameter that slightly exceeds the reference range but has little clinical relevance) will “jump out of manual review”. The actual pass rate is only 42%.
Runmei’s automatic review scheme is completely different.
Runmei provides its own middleware, which is compatible with both LIS and HIS dual channels. Its rule engine has over 200 configurable rules, covering all the content of the automatic review guidelines recommended by the International Committee for Standardization in Hematology (ICSH).
More importantly, Runmei’s rule engine supports “logical combinations of conditions” – that is, composite conditions such as “or”, “and” non “,” range “, and” trend “.

The latter has much higher flexibility and can truly match clinical scenarios.
Runmei will automatically review data 6 months after launch:
·Automatic approval rate: 76.8% (far higher than Brand B’s 42%)
·The manual review time has been reduced from an average of 4.3 hours per day to 2.1 hours
·Report TAT (TAT median): decreased from 87 minutes to 52 minutes

Moreover, Runmei’s middleware also supports the integration of multiple brands of instruments. Our department has both Runmei and another old brand A instrument, centrally managed by the same middleware, with a completely unified LIS level.
Runmei’s middleware is a very flexible platform for laboratories that are transitioning from “pure manual review” to “automatic review+manual review”.
